Olga Wardęga
26.09 – 10.10 2020 (Opening: September 26, 16:00)

On Saturday, September 26, OKNA is pleased to announce its first resident exhibition, “Atenção! I will collapse”. The show features the work of Olga Wardęga who explores the theme of texture and decay, proposing a series which reveals time-stretched structures, torn colors and urban disarray.

In “Atenção! I will collapse”, the theme is revealed through painting, photography and video. Following the concepts of decay, identity, and displacement, the artist becomes an urban explorer telling stories of time, non-obvious compositions and tinges of interpenetrating layers. The city and its abandoned edifices become the focus of photographic and video documentation work, leading to cultural assimilation and further painting searches.

Olga Wardęga studies painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Poland. Besides painting, she started experimenting with different media such as photography, video, performance and video-mapping.
