This year, OKNA will reopen its doors on 7th of April which marks its 3 years anniversary. Going through such confusing times, we try to remember and celebrate the fact that we are still able to function as a physical venue, sustain residencies and continue the work of building a local community around arts & culture.
For our grand reopening, we propose “now w̵h̵e̵n̵ here t̵h̵e̵r̵e̵” – collective exhibition presenting the works of four members from the OKNA Cultural Association Board together with two current residents.
The exhibition invites visitors to experience an expressive environment of sound which highlight’s each artist’s unique approach to sound art. Featuring a range of audio-visual experiences, the exhibition includes fragments from bigger projects attached to a mixture of field recordings, voice, found sounds and video-art content.
Tackling nowadays feelings of uncertainty, longing and questioning what does the future holds, the reopening event, the exhibition and the collective limit themselves to the momentum, disconnecting from “when” and “there”.
Join us in celebrating this milestone, between the 7th – 10th of April.
Limited to 10 visitors at one time / Masks must be used indoors / 2m social distancing.
